Peachtree City, renown for its golf carts and unique, village style landscape has quickly become the most popular community in the Atlanta area, and the nation. Nestled between rolling, wooded hills and manicured golf courses, there are over 80 miles of walking/bike paths connecting residents to shopping, school, and recreation. Only 20 miles south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, this planned community is set in the beautiful Georgia countryside, close enough to downtown Atlanta to make it the easiest and quickest commute around the perimeter.  It is a planned community, its growth limit estimating a population of 40,000, resulting in the qualities of small town living, while being close to big town life.  Its schools, services, and medical facilities make it the perfect place to live, whether you are family planning, or relaxing in your retirement.

In 1821, the area now known as Fayette County, including Peachtree city, was ceded to the Federal Government by Chief William McIntosh Jr. of the Lower Creek Indian Tribes.  His father was a Scotsman, and his mother was a Creek Indian, so he grew up with a strong desire to see peace and unity in the land between the Indians and the growing population of settlers.  After his death in 1825, his wife and several of his children stayed at the Ware Plantation, in Peachtree City.  Because of his leadership and humanitarian contributions, McIntosh is fondly remembered as being a pivotal figure in the development of this area, many roads and landmarks given Scottish names in his honor. You can find these everywhere you look in Peachtree City . . .  from McIntosh trail, to Glenloch, his legend lives on in this beautiful village.
